MetroBoxTV is an Internet-based video channel focused on "How-To" programs for young professionals moving to major cities. Our goal is to provide a library of entertaining, useful and informative original and user made programs relevant to the life stage of a young professional. How much does it cost to use MetroBoxTV? The site is completely free for lesson contributors and viewers. Are all video lessons submitted to the website published? No. And this is a key question. In order for us to provide a quality environment for all - the teachers, the viewers and the advertisers - the editorial team will review and approve your video submission. To accept and license your submission we look for a list of key attributes, we call VPU. 1. (V)isible - Well lit - Stablised filming, using a tripod or equivalent 2. (P)ractical - Short form lessons, broken up in 5-10 minute durations and packaged - A structured lesson or lessons eg, College Loan Management for Beginners Part 1. 3. (U)nderstandable - Good sound quality - Clear and concise Don't be offended if we reject your submission. Remember it is no benefit to anyone if your video is of poor quality. People won't watch it, and advertisers will not sponsor it. So go back to the home studio and shoot again. We bet you can do better! Also we have to be strict about content that contains IP material that is obviously owned by someone else. This includes, images, footage or even a song playing in the background. Are there any other things we should know about submitting videos?Yes. You can't post pornography. You can't post video or feature music that is copywritten or not in the public domain. See the Terms and Conditions for full rights and limitations. Do I have to have a certain browser or system to use MetroBoxTV? MetroBoxTV works in any browser and on any system (Windows PC, Mac, whatever).The only requirement is that you have the Adobe Flash Player 7 or higher on your system. The MetroBoxTV Uploader is Windows XP or higher only at this time. Can I post MetroBoxTV lessons to my blog? Absolutely. The lesson information page shows the HTML code you can copy and paste into your blog. Be sure to copy the html EXACTLY as is, without adding extra breaks or spaces. And let us know what else you want in terms of making it easier for you to link your video so we can make it better. You can contact us at feedback@MetroBoxTV.com Do you support Dial-up connections via analog modems? We do not recommend dial-up connections for viewing video on MetroBoxTV. We recommend a broadband connection such as DSL or cable modem with at least 1.5Mbps downstream and 384Kbps upstream. How much disk space do I have available and how is it calculated? We give you a whopping 5GB of storage for your approved lessons and even photos. It is calculated by the size of the files you upload. Upload and Video SupportHow do I upload lessons to MetroBoxTV? How about if I don't want to email clips, is there another way? Can I download videos from MetroBoxTV? How do I upload clips to MetroBoxTV? You must be a registered member to upload content. Is there a size limit on the files I upload? Yes, we currently have a file limit of 100MB, but we do not have a limit on length. Its true, longer clips are generally larger in size, but 100MB is pretty big. What file type does MetroBoxTV support? We support a wide range of video types from digital camera, camcorders, and mobile phones. We support WMV, MOV, AVI , MPG, 3GP, 3GPP2 and JPG for still images. What's the best video format to use to get the best quality? We would recommend MPEG-4 (Quicktime, Divx, Xvid) and the frame size 320x240 and MP3 audio. Can I share videos with others? Yes you can share by emailing or placing your videos in blogs or websites. To email when you are watching a lesson click on the "Email this lesson" link below the name of the user who uploaded the lesson. Also when viewing a list of lessons, check the box in the lower left corner of the lessons you want to email and then select How about if I don't want to email lessons, is there another way? Yes, there is a new feature called My URL which lets you email or blog a link of all your Public videos and Favorites. Your friends can come back and check the URL anytime to see if you have uploaded anything new. Can I download videos from MetroBoxTV? We currently do not offer the capability of downloading lessons from the site. WebcamWhat Webcam models does MetroBoxTV support? We should work with most name brand webcams. We did extensive testing with Logitech, Creative Labs and Apple webcams. Heck, one of our developers tried a webcam company called Dynex and it worked as well. You may visit the Adobe's Camera compatibility matrix page and review a list of supported cameras, but the page is a little outdated. If you have problems recording or connecting make sure you have the latest drivers from your webcam manufacturer. My AccountWhat do I do if I forget my password? What about if I want to change my password? How do I change my profile or screen name? What do I do if I forget my password? You click on the Forgot your Password button on the Login page and an email gets sent to the email address in your profile. What about if I want to change my password? You go to the My Profile page and change it! How do I change my profile or screen name? You go to the My Profile page and make whatever changes you like!
